    Andrew Taylor Still was the founder of the principles of osteopathy, and in 1892 co-founder of the American School of Osteopathy, Kirksville, Mo. See brief history of osteopathy in collection register.
    Scope and Content: 
    Includes photographs, journals, reports, books, correspondence, brochures, and news clippings which illustrate the principles and history of osteopathic medicine; photographic portraits, brief biographies, and some correspondence of more than 100 prominent osteopaths; journals, college announcements and catalogs of schools of osteopathy; 2 books on osteopathy and a copy of "Gray's Anatomy"; clippings, etc.
    Divided into 4 series.
    This collection apparently was formed when Dr. George A. Still, trustee and second president (1918-1922) of the American School of Osteopathy, and great-nephew of its founder, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, circulated a request for historical material on osteopathy in 1918. Collection transferred from Division of Medical Sciences to Archives Center, 1983/04/29.
