We have an early 1880s box featuring the chocolates of Mr. Charles(?) Whitman and an entire sequence of the Sampler series, from the fully embroidered originals (all sides) through the replacement of the dragon with the bluebird in the late 1980s to today's slick sampler that shows no decoration except the bluebird on the lid. There is no catalog. The original Whitman's sampler collection (of actual hand-embroidered samplers) resides in the Philadelphia Museum of Art." The other artifacts described above are in the Division of Work and Industry.
