    Bio / His Notes: 
    Winslow, a Baltimore physician, surgeon, and medical school professor, was known for several medical firsts in Maryland, e.g. introduction of surgical antisepsis and abdominal surgery for gunshot wounds, etc., and for expansion of the medical school curriculum and efforts toward the creation of the second University Hospital. He grew up in an atmosphere of medicine, and happily married, fathered twelve children who survived, two of whom continued the family medical tradition.
    Scope and Content: 
    Diaries, journals, patient records, account books, collected historical materials, taped oral history interviews, and miscellaneous papers. The core of the collection is a chronological series of personal diaries, college and medical school notes, and patient records, kept over a 54-year period.
    Organization: 
    Divided into three series: (1) Diaries and Journals; (2) Account Books; (3) Collected Historical Materials.
